So it begins! Well, actually it began quite a while ago, but I didn't want to show anything until there was a good amount to show. Ever since I started creating textures and models for video games about 15 years ago (give or take) I have been particularly interested in sci-fi environments like the inside of a space station. Below is a screen of the very first project I ever did, and next is what I'm working on now. I have created everything in the scenes which are running real time. Graphics have come a long way, but there is still a special place in my heart for the project that got me started. Click for bigger versions. Back when doom 3 was released I was amazed by the graphics. Normal mapping in particular blew my mind. I was so used to working with flat textures. From that point forward I put my mind to learning all the tricks to make normal maps for materials and models. Baking a high poly model onto a low poly one still excites me to this day. This post is a starting point of sorts. From here on out I will be updating frequently. Basically showing everything I create as I create it, similar to what I did with Codename Dungeon, until that went dark. This will serve as a development diary of sorts, keeping me on track. Here are a couple more then and now shots. More coming soon, so stay tuned!
